From what I can recall I never really had an interest in toys that were "for girls". I'd venture to guesss that this was because I didn't grow up around anyone that played with these types of toys. I've always had neighbors that were either elderly or families that had boy(s) that were mine or my brothers age, and none of my family members that are close to my age are girls.

Growing up I was very much a kid who enjoyed the stereotypical boy activities like playing in the dirt, baseball, and racing mini-motorcycles with my brother and cousins.
From what I can recall I never really had an interest in toys that were "for girls". I'd venture to guesss that this was because I didn't grow up around anyone that played with these types of toys. It is very cool that you grew up as the stereotypical kind of boy. Liked playing sports and getting dirty. I can see now since we are on the same football team how much all the masculinity around you has shaped who you are today.

ReplyDeleteI think it is cool that you grew up as the stereotypical kind of boy. I was also intrigued by sports as a kid and didn't really have any girl influences when I was young.
