How To Survive A Plague

People and groups of people form protests to attempt to have their voices heard regarding a particular subject or cause. Regardless of the effectiveness of these protests, people have protested for many years to make an impact. In today's society where protests are almost counter productive, and people seem to be shooting themselves in the foot, it is important to know what makes a protest effective. Based on movements in the past, it seems that for a protest to gain popularity it must have both a mass amount of supporters and the ability to sacrifice. I believe there really was no other way for AIDs activists to have their voices heard since they were being ignored by the government and other officials.
